 Oster 3883 Belgian Wafflemaker, Chrome (Kitchen) I’m not going to pretend this iron is ideal for the waffle gourmet. But as a mom with kids who just wants hot, fresh homemade waffles that are easy to make this iron does a great job, and I paid a super-low price for it. The non-stick surface works fine so far, it seems sturdy and well-made, and my latest batch turned out exactly as I like. I will point out that it’s not very large; one batch will serve 1-2 people.When I tried the manual’s recipe for basic waffles with the middle setting, I thought they were dry and pale. Personally, I use a cup of milk per 1 1/4 cups of flour for more moist waffles. I find that turning the iron close to the highest end gives the best results; I didn’t get any color on them otherwise (only being willing to wait five minutes per batch). I replaced half the butter the recipe called for with vegetable oil with very good results. Be ready to do different trials to get the results you want.The iron is perfect for those looking for a basic, inexpensive waffle maker.

    		 Chef’s Choice M840 Waffle Pro Express Waffle Maker , Traditional Five of Hearts (Kitchen) After seeing waffle makers reviewed on Cook’s Country, and this one called out as the best, I went ahead and ordered it. My family loves waffles but 99% of them come from Eggo. I’m not a big fan of super thick Belgian waffles so I thought this would be a good compromise. Turns out it makes something more akin to a waffle pancake or thick crepe. I could not get them crispy though they would get very dark in color when I turned the dial up to 5. To give you a sense of the finished product, think of something about 30% thinner than an Eggo. I ended up returning mine to Amazon and will try out another make/model.The design, controls, etc were all very good, though the darkness control was oddly loose. Cleanup was indeed a breeze and the unit was nice and compact. So I wouldn’t discount all Chef’s Choice products but this one simply fell short of my expectations.

I’ve probably used it 10 times already and I’ve never been disappointed. The waffles cook perfectly with many different recipes and what a treat it is to be able to make 2 at a time. The clean-up is easy and fortunately for us, it is stored in a place that is easy for us to get to. I strongly recommend this product.

    		 West Bend 6200 Hi-Rise Rotary Belgian Waffle Maker (Kitchen) Well reading the reviews prompted me to buy this little beast… let me tell ya, the price doesn’t justify the grief! After meticulously following the instructions for first time use, the waffles stuck, and were a real pain to get out, in dozens of pieces. So, thinking POSSIBLY it was the batter, I’ve tried numerous name brand mixes, and to a consistantly sticky outcome. Looks like with all these sticky waffles, I’m the one STUCK with this unit. I’ve never seen them stick at Waffle House (Georgia) ! What’s THEIR secret… I want it! My best outcome was THREE pieces, and not pretty ones!

    		 Waring WMK300 Belgian Waffle Maker, Brushed Stainless (Kitchen) I looked at the pictures people posted showing how the ir Waring waffle maker broke, but I have used it for standard household use of 3 people for 4 years and have never had any problems with it. My mother-in-law owns the same waffle maker and she has had her’s a little longer than I have had mine and she loves it. I also have a sister-in-law that has had one for about 2 years and she loves her’s as well. I really don’t think you could go wrong. I have loved mine so much I have started investing into more Waring products. It works better than any other waffle maker I have ever owned and it is by far my favorite small appliance!
